Dear Brenda,
Good to hear from someone regarding the drawing. Could you also send me
your complete lineage so that I can include it in my database? My lineage
is listed further in this memo.
On this drawing the following notations are made:
1. Obediah Mellott b. 1755 (s/o John Mellott, Esq. and Sarah). Obediah
married Miss Wink, dau of Jacob Wink, Esq.. notation made that Jacob's
wife
was a Delaware Indian.
2. Same Obediah Mellott. After Miss Wink died, Obediah married Mary
Daniels. There is a son on this chart...Jake Jake . Notation made that he
married Elizabeth, a Delaware Indian. Also noted is that Jake was either
an
Indian or raised as an Indian...figure that one out (maybe he was
adopted).
3. Notation next to both Betsy Mellott, d/o of Obediah married to Squire
John Mellot and her sister, Sarah Mellott married to Jerimia Mellott that
they are both "1/4 Indian".
4. Ahimasy (sp) Mellott, s/o Daniel Mellott and Mary Ann Deshong married
Catherine Truax. Notation that Catherine's mother was a Delaware Indian
Also, not noted on the chart...family lore states that my gg grandmother
Mary Starr was a Cherokee....don't know for sure. If you can verify,
please
