Note:
Clarinda Marlet fell in love with Edward Riggs McCune and married him
while he was enlisted as a private in the Civil War. They had one child,
Myrtle, while he was still enlisted. Edward was discharged from the Army
June 13, 1865. After his discharge he was disabled, but they continued
to have their family. To take care of his family, Edward received a
disablility pension for the Army in the amount of $14.00 a month. Edward
left Clarinda sometime between December 1891 and the date of his death in
1892 to move to Washington. Some say that he had an illness that he did
not want other family members to catch.
After his death, Clarinda continued to draw Edwards pension from the
Army. Clarinda became ill and was cared for by her son, Charley R.
McCune from July to August 1910. Her grandson Lewis Krack cared fro her
from August 23, to September 1, 1910. Charley returned to care for her
until her date of death. Clarinda died of paralysis on Sept 6, 1910 on
her farm in Prarie Dog Township, Decatur County, Kansas. At the time of
her death, Clarinda's estate valued $310.00 Cash, 10 head of cattle worth
$250.00, one mare worth $50.00 and 2 mules worth $250.00

1765.
John & Sarah were baptized at the April Meeting 1766 & joined Tonoloway
Church. John was Justice of the Peace for Bedford Co., PA soon after its
organization in 1771. Buried Tonoloway Baptist Cem.
