[McGregor Family Tree.ftw]
The 1870 Census for Burleson County shows Ruth A. Marble living with Zack
P. and Augusta A. Evans. Both Zack and Augusta were born in South
Carolina. Augusta may have been a sister to James Keith Thomas and a
daughter of Daniel B. Thomas. The 1870 Census shows Ruth A. as being 13
years of age when living with Zack and Augusta. Ruth A.'s parents were
from Michigan, but she was born in Texas. Her parents apparently died
when she was very young. Her father was supposedly a doctor around the
Cook's Point area and owned 1200 acres of land there. After his death,
supposedly his brother came to Texas from Michigan and sold the land.
This may be how Ruth came to be living with Zack and Augusta.
