Name source: S004138 William Henry McGregor. William Henry McGregor was born in Allendale, Illinois, Wabash County, on July 13, 1849, son of George and Sarah (McIntosh) McGregor.
He married Rebecca Goodhard, and to this union were born George Harrison, Sarah, Lillie and Mary. AFter the death of Rebecca, he married Mary Jane Tally. To this union was born Villa Mae, Asa, Della Maude, Julia, ElizabethPearl, Effie, and Basil.
The McGregor family decided to come to Texas in search of a better climate and more land. They stopped in Gainsville and farmed one year before coming to Milam County in 1881. They settled on a farm near Rockdale until 1885 when they purchased a farm near Milano.
